only the ones who got nothing
are dragged into glass cages
just to hear
“hey! pay attention to this exhibit”
“peter, learn from other’s mistakes”
“she was a girl in her teens
who was misunderstood by the society”
the proprietors and the farmers
all stared at the notice board in the city hall
when they saw her name red and underlined
they thought of snatching away her citizenship rights
“excuse me miss, can you tell me more about her”
“well peter, she thought she had it until she didn’t”
“then she got mad in her head like a doodle”
peter glanced upon the girl
and just knew she wasn’t mad
she was tortured
the proprietors and the farmers
all assembled again at a country club
and established that from thereupon
i was not a citizen of the town

wrote this back when I was in 11th grade and found this when looking through my old poetry. this one just stuck out. a 17 year old differentiating mad and tortured.

This is so cool I honestly love your writing style!!
Ashhh so talented, this reminded me of Olivia Rodrigo and how she had drivers license just written down somewhere in her teens!
